Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 2026-05-07
Friends of the Vineyard Library is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
What we do
- We test our site with automated accessibility tools (axe-core) on every change before deploy.
- We design with semantic HTML, sufficient color contrast, visible focus indicators, and clear keyboard navigation.
- We provide text alternatives for images and labels for form controls.
- We use a "skip to content" link so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass repeated navigation.
Known limitations
We track known accessibility issues and prioritize fixes. As of the date above, no critical issues are known. If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us — see "Contact" below.
Third-party content
Some pages embed third-party content (for example, our donation page uses Zeffy). We do our best to choose vendors that meet accessibility standards, but we do not control their interfaces. If you cannot complete a donation through the embedded form, please use the Contact page on this site and we will help you donate by another method.
